Symposium on Indian Freedom Struggle held at GCW Udhampur


As a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) celebration-2023, a Symposium on the theme: “Indian Freedom Struggle” was organized by Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Committee in collaboration with Department of Political Science under the aegis of Meri Maati Mera Desh and AKAM on August 12, 2023. The entire event was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Sanjeet Kaur, Convenor, AKAM. Committee of Govt. College for Women, Udhampur In total 10 students participated in the symposium and shared their views on the concerned theme. Prof. Roopa (HOD Education) and Dr. Meena Gupta (Department of English) were acted as jury members. On the basis of judgement of jury members, Ms. Supriya Bharti (5th Semester), Ms. Shruti Sharma (3rd Semester) and Ms. Nitika Sharma (5th Semester) bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. Ms. Pallvi (3rd Semester) and Ms. Vagisha (5th Semester) bagged consolation prizes. Earlier Dr. Shaveta Sharma, HOD Political Science presented the formal welcome address and gave a brief resume about the event. She further conducted the proceedings of the programme with formal Vote of Thanks. Dr. Seema Sharma, Dr. Kewal Kumar, Dr. Amit Kumar, Prof. Tania Mahajan , Dr. Rajinder Singh (HOD Punjabi), Prof. Pooja Bharti and Prof. Yash Kumar were amongst others who graced the occasion with their benign presence.
