GCW UDHAMPUR CONDUCTED NUKKAD NATAK & CLEANLINESS DRIVE AT SHAHEED BHAGAT SINGH PARK UDHAMPUR
As a part of fortnightly activities under Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations, NSS unit and
Swachhta Action Plan (SAP) Club of GCW Udhampur under the able guidance of Prof. Anjali
Mahajan, Principal of the college in collaboration with Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural
Education (MGNCRE), Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India have organized a
Nukkad Natak and a cleanliness drive at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Park, Udhampur to raise awareness
on Swachhta among general masses” on September 21,2023.
The Cleanliness drive and Nukkad Naatak was organized by Dr. Kewal Kumar (Convenor
SAP), Prof Sumita Rao (NSS PO) and Prof. Rajinder Singh (NSS PO) while Mr. Yash Kumar,
Assistant Professor of Music provided the technical assistance during the said event.
The objective of organizing this Nukkad Natak and cleanliness drive was to spread awareness on the
importance of cleanliness in the community, neighbourhood, streets and public spaces among the
general masses/public.
About 50 volunteers participated enthusiastically in the cleanliness drive and Nukkad Naatak.
They picked and segregated biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste and disposed them properly
in prescribed manner. Volunteers who presented the Nukkad Natak on the said theme received a lot of
applause from the audience. As a result of motivation induced during the Nukkad Naatak, a number
of small children and local visitors also participated actively in the cleanliness drive.
