NCC Unit Of GCW Udhampur Organized Nukkad Natak

In continuation with the ongoing series of activities to celebrate World Environment Day 2023, which is observed on June 5 every year, the NCC unit (1 J&K Girls Battalion NCC, Srinagar) of Govt. College for Women, Udhampur, organized ‘Nukkad Natak’ in Hindi, based on the theme ‘Plastic Free India’ to promote environmental awareness on 31.05.2023.
This NCC unit of the college is organizing a series of activities to celebrate World Environment Day with the support and guidance of Prof. Anjali Mahajan, principal of the college, under the Mission Life (Lifestyle for Environment), G-20 and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
The main aim and motive of the playlet (Nukkad Natak), organized under this series of activities, was to create awareness amongst students and to inspire them to adopt an eco friendly lifestyle.
In the Nukkad Natak, a total of 15 NCC cadets of 1 J&K Girls BN NCC Srinagar, actively participated and highlighted the various demerits of using plastic, polybags and polythene in human life and on animal health. They also expressed their views through this act creatively on how we can make India a plastic free nation.
Earlier, NCC Caretaker of this BN, Ms. Shallu Jasrotia, briefed about the main theme of the playlet ‘Plastic Free India’.
Principal of the college, Prof Anjali Mahajan, appreciated the efforts of the NCC cadets and emphasized to aware people towards environmental conservation. The whole event was coordinated by the NCC caretaker Ms. Shallu Jasrotia.
